As a family-owned company, Bona has dedicated itself to the world community, and our shared future. Such a long term commitment to innovation requires a sustainable philosophy that incorporates and considers living environments, both indoors and outdoors. We continually strive for effective products with ever-lessening environmental impact.
Bona's Commitment to Our Shared Environment
When it comes to the environment and floor care, Bona leads the pack.
Bona was the first manufacturer in the industry to offer a complete hardwood floor finishing and care system that is GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®. The certification assures professionals and consumers unsurpassed durability, beauty, and environmental responsibility for hardwood floors from sanding and finishing to floor care.
Bona waterborne floor cleaners are safe for floors, families, and the environment. Bona's specially-developed non-toxic and biodegradeable formula also limits the harmful effects of downstream pollution.
Bona waterborne finishes have no toxic fumes and low VOC's so they are healthier for your family, pets, and the environment. In addition, there is no need to vacate your home during the finishing process due to fast dry times and easy water clean-up. This Swedish waterborne technology highlights the true beauty and elegance of the wood and provides the ultimate in durability.
Bona's trailer-mounted Bona Atomic Dust Containment System is the most forward thinking innovation in the industry and the world. The powerful system evacuates airborne dust generated by the sanding process. It virtually eliminates lingering dust in your air-ducts and a clean-up dust storm headache that feels like it will never end.
At Bona, we reuse materials within our own production, and also design our products to reduce landfill clutter. Our Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pads are machine washable up to 300 times, saving you money and protecting our shared environment.
Bona’s floor care products are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® as well as certified for GREENGUARD’s more stringent Children and Schools Program. GREENGUARD is a non-profit, third party organization that tests indoor products for their environmental impact in an effort to improve the air quality consumers breathe.
GREENGUARD Environmental Institute is an industry-independent, non-profit organization that establishes standards and testing for indoor products. Its goal is to improve public health by helping manufacturers build safer, better products. These products will not pollute the air with harmful levels of dangerous chemicals or particulates.
GREENGUARD Children & Schools Product Certification Program focuses on low-emitting building materials, furnishings, and finish systems used in education environments (daycares and K-12). It evaluates the sensitive nature of school populations and unique building characteristics, for the most stringent product emissions criteria to date. Products certified under GREENGUARD Children & Schools use two criteria for low-emitting materials: the U.S. Green Building Commission's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system for schools, and the Collaborative for High Performance Schools' (CHPS) Best Practices Manual.
